Having scored a hat-trick of wins at the Vereeniging Kart Circuit during Round 1, Luke heads to the Celso Scribante Karting Circuit leading the Kid ROK championship.
As if competing in one class isn’t challenging enough, Luke also competes in the very competitive Mini ROK class, having made his debut during Round 1 of the championship. This hard-working 8-year old, who seems to have endless energy, also leads the Mini ROK’s under-10 category championship.
Consistent performance in his K2Motorsport-prepared Praga kart against some older and more experienced drivers sees Luke occupying the ninth position in the overall Mini ROK championship. Mini ROK competitors are aged between 8 – 13 years and “Lightning Luke,” as he is affectionately known, has found the leading group’s pace challenging during his first year. He, however, remains motivated to improve on every lap and close the gap to the front runners.
Having put in some hard work and numerous practice laps ahead of this weekend’s national in his SteelForm-backed kart, Luke will be keen on keeping his perfect winning streak in Kid ROK, while adapting to the quicker pace of the Mini ROK class.
Luke and his family invite you to come and experience the increasingly popular ROK Cup this weekend with sunny and warm weather predicted for the weekend.
