After making his debut in the Falken Polo Cup, Stiaan Kriel will aim to continue his dominant form in Class B of the MotorMart VW Challenge. The next stop on the 2019 calendar will see him competing at Zwartkops Raceway on March 8-9.
Kriel’s 2019 Class B campaign got off to a victorious start, albeit in Mauritz Nigrini’s borrowed Volkswagen Polo. The car is still available for purchase, but in the meantime Kriel is rapidly turning it into a strong package to power further victories. Once again, he will be competing in this car during Round 2 and will be aiming to maintain his grip on the class: “If someone had told me that I would’ve taken my first Class B win in a car that I hardly knew the day before Round 1, I probably would’ve laughed it off. That said there is still a lot that we need to resolve in order to get it up to the pace that we will be happy with. I have a very good record at Zwartkops Raceway which I would like to maintain and we’ll certainly give it our best efforts.”
Stiaan continues to explain how he developed a new approach since joining the MotorMart Racing Team: “For sure we’ve got a great spirit in the team. We’re working well as a unit to chase a common goal of success. This really inspires good individual achievements as well. I’ve especially been doing a lot of one-on-one work with Robbie da Silva recently. This also provides me with an opportunity to evaluate my own style as well. This is definitely an environment in which you can grow as race driver.”
Round 2 of the MotorMart VW Challenge will form part of the regional Extreme Festival and fans can expect a host of entertainment from four-wheel and two-wheel categories alike. Stiaan Kriel would also like to invite his supporters to follow his Facebook page www.facebook.com/StiaanKrielRacing for updates throughout the weekend.
Stiaan Kriel would like to thank the following partners for making his 2019 MotorMart VW Challenge campaign possible: MotorMart Klerksdorp, Creative Ink Media, Spanjaard, Lehlobo Autobody Repairers, Geardown Gearbox, Colt & Toyota Spares, Bessie Bester Motors, Kalex, Most Wanted Performance Tuning.
In addition, Kriel would also like to thank the associate sponsors of the MotorMart VW Challenge for making this exciting category possible: Norbrake Distribution, ATE Brakes, Dicktator Engine Management Systems, Yaskawa, BPM Engineering and Pozidrive.
