The August 16-17 race weekend will also see him pushing to regain his second place on the Class B points table where he currently trails Jacques Smith by 5 points.
The defending Class B title holder maintained a solid run of seven consecutive podium finishes; five of them as runner-up. His misfortune however started after that with a clutch problem to end Round 4 and an engine failure that prevented him from starting in Round 5. The team however worked hard to have the Monitor Net Volkswagen Polo ready ahead of the Zwartkops Raceway weekend.
“It’s time to bounce back to form and climb the ladder again” says Holliday Jnr. “We’re taking the view that bad things happen in threes and we’ve had our tally now. I’m confident about my chances at Zwartkops.”
Round 6 of the 2019 MotorMart VW Challenge will form part of the Extreme Festival and will see Qualifying taking place on Saturday morning at 08:55. Both races will be run over 10 Laps and will start at 11:40 and 15:05. The Monitor Net team would like to invite all motorsport fans in Gauteng to attend the weekend’s action.
