During his 2018 visit he won both the Class A MotorMart VW Challenge races prior to winning Class 111/B in the Phakisa 200 Endurance race alongside Robyn Kriel. Despite finding himself in a completely new environment for 2019, he will be aiming to do the same again.
In the MotorMart VW Challenge he heads up the Class B table with 32 points while occupying second place in the overall championship. He’ll enter the weekend in good form after dominating every race in the season thus far.
“Like my entire season to date, this will be a new challenge and I’m thoroughly looking forward to maintaining my position in the championship by staying at the front of the class on track. Of course, I’ll be firmly focussed on the overall championship as well and a strong weekend will keep me in touch with Rory Atkinson.”
The MotorMart Klerksdorp driver will be competing in his third Phakisa 200 campaign alongside Deon Holliday Jnr in the Monitor Net Volkswagen Polo. Holliday Jnr currently holds the MotorMart VW Challenge Class B title, but will be making his debut in the endurance race. The duo has been entered in Class 111/X, but with classification being based on lap times this could change during the weekend.
Stiaan Kriel would also like to invite his supporters to follow his Facebook page www.facebook.com/StiaanKrielRacing for updates throughout the weekend.
Stiaan Kriel would like to thank the following partners for making his 2019 MotorMart VW Challenge campaign possible: MotorMart Klerksdorp, Creative Ink Media, Spanjaard, Lehlobo Autobody Repairers, Geardown Gearbox, Colt & Toyota Spares, Bessie Bester Motors, Kalex, Most Wanted Performance Tuning.
In addition, Kriel would also like to thank the associate sponsors of the MotorMart VW Challenge for making this exciting category possible: Norbrake Distribution, ATE Brakes, Dicktator Engine Management Systems, Yaskawa, BPM Engineering and Pozidrive.
